Sometimes, the standard just won’t cut it. Hennig’s team comes up with the right solution for your shop - ensuring you have every part you need to know the job is done right.
When identifying the need for a heavy duty application solution, we look at a lot of varying factors:
If your chips are so bushy they might resemble tumbleweeds, a standard solution probably won’t be ideal. Standard solutions can cause obstructions and damage your conveyor.
Assess the amount of weight being dropped onto your conveyor. Excessive remnant pieces, chip volume, and pieces affected by work hardening are all common offenders of causing damage with standard solutions. Impact plates can be added, combined with other heavy-duty application solutions.
The harder the material, the stronger the solution you’ll need. If you’re working with hardened steel or stainless steel, you’ll likely have to choose a different material for your rail.
If chips or products fall to the conveyor hotter than can be handled by human touch, a heavy-duty application is needed to protect your machine.
Every heavy-duty application calls for a unique solution and the best thing to do is reach out to your Hennig team for answers geared toward your specific situation. However, we’ve outlined some of the common solutions we implement below. These should give you an idea of where to start.
While the traditional material used is cold-rolled steel, sometimes your application calls for something a bit more robust. In those cases, we switch up to heavy-duty stainless steel for 1 ½“ pitch applications and go up to hardened steel rails for 2 1/2 “ pitch applications.
Impact plates are thick enough to protect the hinges of the belt. Traditionally, if impact plates are needed this solution is paired with others.
For heavy-duty applications decided by weight rather than the types of material being used, often using a heavy-duty belt is the solution implemented.
Changing your pitch from 1 ½” to 2 ½” may be required. Traditionally, this solution is paired with others.
Every heavy-duty application calls for something a bit different. The best way to move forward is to get in touch with your Hennig team to discuss the best fit for your process.
