Swebco Manufacturing Inc., a third-generation family owned business, has been Hennig’s neighbor in Machesney Park, Illinois for nearly two decades. Swebco, a company started in 1979 with only 3 employees, was previously known as a Pro-Tool Mfg.Co. Since then, they have grown into a large corporation, specializing in high temperature alloys with close tolerance precision machined parts.
Casey Swebke, Operations Manager, says that Swebco’s long standing reputation, experience and commitment to the customers is what sets them apart. They serve locomotive, aerospace, automotive, power generation, military, marine, and machine tools among other industries.
Swebco and Hennig have a long history of working together; the company is equipped with several Hennig conveyors, new way covers, and dozens of repaired units.
Casey explained that they do not hesitate to invest in new equipment and the latest technology, if it means faster turnaround times, improving processes and providing the customer with the most efficient and cost-effective product. Swebco recently purchased a new Mazak machine. The machine arrived later than expected which caused the shop to fall behind on completing some jobs. In addition, shortly after the machine was installed, the way cover was accidentally damaged. Swebco needed the cover fixed as quickly as possible to prevent their orders from falling further behind. Casey knew that to get the new part, he typically had to contact an OEM, request a quote, wait a few days to receive a response, place the order, and depending if the part is in stock or not, wait up to a few weeks to receive it. This is the time that Casey could not waste. Additionally, to repair a cover is certainly more cost effective than to get a new one. He decided to just walk over to Hennig shop early next morning and ask for help. The production team agreed to fit this job into their schedule for that day. The cover was fixed and reinstalled within six hours. Needless to say, Casey was extremely pleased and impressed at the effort Hennig production put in to help him.
Swebco’s story is yet another example of Hennig’s commitment to treating all our customers with utmost priority, not only those, who are neighbors or friends. We strive to provide practical products and exceptional service to help our customers prosper. “Making Our Customers Successful” is not just the words of our mission statement. They apply to everyone that comes to Hennig for a product or service and define the work we do every day as a company.
