The AMLOK RCH Series rod locks provide fail-safe, hydraulic-actuated clamping designed specifically for NFPA hydraulic cylinders. With robust spring-engaged mechanisms, these locks deliver secure holding forces ranging from approximately 1,100 to 80,000 lbf, making them ideal for heavy industrial machinery, presses, and large machine tools. Their compact, through-hole NFPA design integrates seamlessly into standard cylinder installations, providing bi-directional holding with zero backlash.
Note: For dynamic braking of moving loads or extreme safety-critical scenarios, please consult our engineers – in some cases a specialized solution or a SITEMA safety device may be recommended.

The RCH Series uses a mechanical spring mechanism to clamp the rod immediately when hydraulic pressure is removed. A hydraulic piston retracts the clamp when system pressure is restored. This makes the RCH ideal for fail-safe operation: it holds the load when pressure is lost and only releases when commanded.
Available in standard bore/rod sizes to match NFPA dimensions. Custom sizing or mounting options available upon request.
Stainless steel or electroless nickel-plated housing withstands corrosive or washdown conditions.
Viton® seals handle high temperatures and aggressive fluids, ensuring reliable performance in harsh conditions.
Wipers/scrapers prevent contamination in dusty or dirty environments; fully sealed units are available for food processing, chemical, or underwater use.
For maximum holding force, dual RCH units can be mounted in tandem to double the holding capacity.
